Realized I don't drive the Tacoma that often. It's not my DD and I've put less than 2000 miles on it since October. That will change this summer. My brother will get the Saab and I'll use the truck for everything then off to college.

$2,245.77 all in isn't that bad for a running Tacoma. Now I just have to change the head gasket and get it painted. Except my dad doesn't think I need a head gasket. He just thinks that all cars produce a large amount of white smoke on start up. He's so confident nothing is wrong that he has offered me a 75,000 mile warranty (longer than the original factory warranty) (until the truck hits 300,000 miles) where he will pay half of every major repair. The only thing I have to do is keep it maintained (oil, brakes, and adding coolant every two weeks). I think this is a pretty good deal.

Here's the smoke. This was at about 40 degrees Fahrenheit out and it was wet. The idle sounds louder in the video than it actually is. And this is with the old exhaust. Guess I'm just running it until it won't run anymore, then fixing it. Then running forever.

Mine smoked that much... when the headgasket was blown. Or when it's below 0.

I have one for the HEMIWagon that I started the day I bought the car. Very great tool, outside of a couple of recent services, I have my ownership history on record. I might not have the receipts for everything, but I have some record of it.

If (when) the head gasket goes catastrophically tits up, be sure and stop immediately so you only have to pay for half the head gasket replacement instead of half of a new head, head gasket, and associated labor.
